Why imported Setups don't work?

I downloaded some F2 setups, put them under the Players/Setup/xxxxx
folder, but when I go to car setup in GPL, all I see is the Default.
Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong? What's setup.def file for?

You have to put them in de circuit-maps in your own name directory.
By Drivers-info select your own name.

Put the setup files in \players\[player name]\setups\[track name]\
Make sure you use the right player, use F2 cars(adv. trainer) and use the
right chassis.
I guess the setups.def file contains the default setups for all cars.

That was exactly what I did: I put Alsion's Coventry WatGlen setup
under my player\setup\watglen directory, but I still can't select it
from the Car setup manu...

.The filenames end in .fe1 for Ferrari gp1  change it to.fe2.

Check the extension on the file. If it is named xxxx.co1 or xxxx.co3 it
won't be presented as an option in the pulldown menu of the setup screen. If
your player is a designated f2 player then the setups accesible to that
player will have the extension of .co2 (assuming you're driving a
Coventry/Cooper). You can just change the name of the extension in windows
to the right one and it will load.

Joe,

You da man! That did the trick, the last digit of the suffix must be 2
for F2 and 1 for F1, duh ;-o

Jaz,

Alisons' setups usually have to be renamed. Go to properties and check.

Hey, Jazz --
I musta missed something in your earlier posts.  I didn't get until now that
you were trying to load Alison's F1 setups to use in F2, so my answers to
you were almost certainly confusing.  Sorry about that.

Be aware, though, that you will need to do some tweaking, because, well, an
F2 is not an F1, and the gear ratios won't be right.  (Someone correct me if
I'm wrong.  Kurt, ducking.)

If you're looking for F2 setups, Alison's site has a link to Steve Smith's
F2's, and those you'll be able to use "right out of the box."

Regards,

Kurt

Kurt,

Yes, I will give Steve's F2 setup a try as well. Even with Alison's F1
setup, I am driving better than with the default setup.

Thanks,
Jaz
