Sim News - September

by John Wallac » Sun, 13 Oct 1996 04:00:00

Hi all,

The September issue of Sim News which was prepared by Marc is now on-
line. I hope you enjoy it and like the different look! We're now working
on October, and hopefully getting everything back to normal.

Cheers!
John

Yes, I like the new look very much! A very professional effort.

I would like to see a review of Talladega for Nascar Racing.

Congratulations on a job well done.

Jon, yep it has a nice new look to it, but some of the pics go strange
in 1024x768 mode.

(I know I'll be pineappled for that - if you can catch me! Wheeeeelie!)

Cheers!

Nope. The file on Scottish server is 117 kb, and the one on
Austrian mirror is 155 b. A new record in compression factors :)

The FTP part was knacked, it somehow got messed up during the upload.
It's fixed now, so can you check it again?

Thanks, and sorry for the original file problems.

Cheers!

Are you sure you were on the right server? The September issue is
around 380 kb.

428 kb on the Scottish server (sneezy.dcn.ed.ac.uk/simnews/). As
John said, it is fixed now.

Actually, I preferred the old format - I find it easier to
navigate.
And could you go back to a normal .zip file for the FTP version -
it took quite some time before I got around to sussing the
required '-d' switch - I just kept double clicking the .EXE in
Win95 Explorer and wondering why nothing was working properly !!

Sorry you don't like the format, you seem to be in a minority so far
though.

As for the EXE file, you can use PKUNZIP on it just like any ZIP file if
you prefer to do that. Suits everyone...

Cheers!
