How can I get more speed out of the car?? Nascar

by Mr Scott Westley Butt » Sun, 11 Dec 1994 15:43:26

I have been playing NASCAR for quite some time now, and, quite frankly
Need soms HELP !!

The Specs are :

Racing on Talledega track.
Using Qualifying setup with increased fuel.

With this, I still am not getting any decent speeds.  Yeah Yeah I know
it's supposed to be realistic, but I would like to have some hope of
catching the other cars !!!  Best lap I have gotten out of it so far is
181mph.

Can anyone help me ??

Thanks

Well I tweaked the ACE setup.  Reduce the stagger a little bit, this
really slows you down on the straights.  Also I found the ACE setup to
be abit tight (reduce the crosswedge).  I found the the rear weight was
too high also.  The big trick is to find the right groove for you in the
corners.  1 & 2 I found I could gain speed by coming in low / drifting
up in the apex and coming out low.  3 & 4 I found coming in deep and
coming down to the apex and coming out low worked best.  Also you might
want to open up the steering lock on the Qualifying setup if you are
using it as a race setup.

1 more tip I just remembered, if you use the ACE setup shorten 4th gear
by about 2.

I qualified on the pole, with a 195mph time with the straight qualifying
setup on Talledega, and also consistently can win shorter races, with the
same setup, only more fuel. Can't really give you any help, but it is
possible to compete with that setup, just takes lots of practice, you
know, time you should be doing other things, but just can't seem to pull
that joystick out of your hands? ;)
