GP2 in USA!!!

by Jim Met » Thu, 25 Jul 1996 04:00:00

I received a call about 10:00am this morning from the Electronics
Boutique at a local mall here in Detroit.  Seems they received six
copies of GP2.  I reserved one, picked it up after work, and have just
finished my first session.  The game runs a little slow on my P90, 16mb
RAM, 2mb VRAM #9 Trio64 Dell Computer.  I am having to turn all textures
off, and run trackside objects at LOW or OFF to get anything comperable
to ICR2 framerate on this same machine.  I am using UNIVBE 5.2 w/ICR2,
but cannot use it under GP2 as the menus are all out of sync.  I didn't
think there was any support for UNIVBE in GP2 anyway.  I am in desperate
need of a faster box after watching, and drooling, at the Monoco 'Slide
Show' with all details turned on.  I am sure most of you will probably
have GP2 by the time you read this, but if you want some specific
questions answered, I will be glad to try and answer them.

Have Fun
Jim
