Just zipped by The Pits 'cause I hadn't checked there inna while and I saw
something about screenshots from NASCAR 4 and also mention of a N3 truck
add-on next year that MIGHT include Daytona.......

Am I seeing things.....?  Is  "THE"  NASCAR sim finally on final
approach.....? There is a screen shot of the N3 trucks at Papy but not even
a threat of N4...  anybody hear more on it?

~if it's another N2 engine that doesn't flip or catch on fire, I'm gonna do
cartwheels in the middle of the highway.....

Even if N4 is based on a more advanced physics engine, I kind of doubt
that they will model flips. I'm basing this assumption because of the
lack of flips now in real nascar due to the roof flaps.
Now fire on the other hand....that would be cool! :)

Yes, but at least 2 cars flipped over at Sears Point this year from just
hitting the tire barriers

You have to have flips for the physics engine to really be worth a damn.  (or
at least GP2 style rolls)  With vertical travel, suspension works more
realistically, ride height, shocks, springs, they all become very important,
less scripted parts of the sim and are more dynamic.  Compare the carsettings
for GPL and N3.  Huge difference!

The flips are not necessarily preprogrammed - they come as a result of the
car being truly 3d (can move vertically away from the track).  If the
physics are modeled right, it will flip without having to add a 'flip' code.
