Sony Playstation Driving Wheel Question

Sony Playstation Driving Wheel Question

by Jim » Sat, 13 Jul 1996 04:00:00

Has anyone tried the driving wheel for Sony Playstation?  If so, let me know how it is.  Can you calibrate the
wheel for driving games?  Do the games even allow for calibration?  I don't have a Playstation, but I'm
thinking of buying one for the family room.

If you're talking about the Mad Catz, I own one and like it a
great deal. They can be had in the US for about $60, which is very cheap
when you compare it to the price of some of the wheels for the computer.
The quality isn't the greatest, but the overall wheel assembly is well
done, and the pedals are decent. The shifter is even okay (just a tap up
or down for gear shifting, similar to some arcade shifters). It has added
quite a bit of enjoyability to Wipe Out, the Need for Speed, and Ridge
Racer, and some of the future games coming out with analog support should
be great (Destruction Derby 2, F1, Wipe Out XL, etc.). It's definitely
worth it if you're into racers..
