Help me please

I have a PII300 Hercules Thriller AGP 4 meg, Monster 2 3d, and Soundblaster
64 PCI.
Windows games work great, but absolutely NO DOS games work. in fact, any
graphics at all in DOS cause a system lockup for me. This includes sound
setup for nascar2.
only reason i bought the thriller was for Papy games, and now I cant use it
in the dos versions, and I really want to check out my new rig for TEN. So
for now I am stuck with my P166 for NROS.
Tell you the truth, 3dfx in nascar 1999 hasnt got me to e***d about the
possibilities for rendition in n2, as the game still BLOWS compared to GPL
or Viper in terms of Graphics and such, so i really am about ready to axe
the thriller for a Viper and get my sytem going and let my wife have the
Dinosaur.
Also....I have a "special" PII300 (the SL2W8, which is really a PII 450) but
my performance in GPL hasnt gotten me over anxious to crank my abit to 100
mhz to utilize the full 450 in my machine. I am getting (with both rendition
and 3dfx) 30 FPS at start and 35/36 FPS in race with 19 ai cars. I dont see
too much of a difference in the rendition or 3dfx models...except that they
are pretty much the same with the 4 meg Thriller as the 12 meg Voodoo2
card....so i guess 8 megs of difference with same performance in saying
enuff as it is. If I could just get dos to work with current configs I would
be happy as anything...but otherwise, 3dfx isnt looking to shabby, so I see
no reason to purchase a Viper or another reasonable priced video card that
will let me run dos and using my Voodoo 2 for graphics.
thanks in advance
