OK, I have conceded that driving with a joystick is certainly no JOY! I'm
drawing up plans for home-made steering "wheel" (see below) and pedals.
For the steering, I plan on using a bike handle bar/bearing assembly
connected to a potentiometer. Any innovative thoughts on how to provide a
"resistance" to the bar to give it a more realistic feel?
For the pedals, I think I will use bike pedals/crank arms/bottom brackets
(one pedal/crank/bracket assembly for brake another for accelerator). I
thought to use a seperate pot for each pedal, and then just connect them
in series so that they become one joystick axis. This way the resistances
from each are additive. Any comments/warnings?
Cheers!
