At the considerable risk of making the "list",
I offer the following suggestion.
I, and I suspect many others, would fight to the
death for the right of everyone to post up his or
her thoughts on Racing Sims.
I would equally do the same for everyone's right
to IGNORE those who would turn this area into
something else.
I call for a simple BOYCOTT of the offending
posters. Simply DO IT, by NOT DOING IT.
That is DO NOT respond in any way to those post
that are part of the obvious problem. If we,
whatever that means, all stick to our guns on
this, they will fade and the RAS will be cleaned
up.
As most will recognize, I am NOT, nor do I think
that others are, referring to good old fashioned
donnybrook disagreements on this or that part of
this or that sim. Sharp exchanges are part of the
passion that we all bring to any good discussion,
or to anything worth a good discussion. I'm not
advocating a "no flames zone". I'm sure that most
will recognize that this is not the type of post
that is being referred to.
It is the obvious and disruptive posts that have
little or nothing to do with RAS that are the
problem.
It would appear that there is a real problem here
too. It does taint the tone and flavor of the group
to have to put up with these types of posts.
Peek, but DON'T reply, don't encourage, IGNORE.
I've seen this work in the past. Without response it
soon becomes a bore to post in a 'vacuum', as it were.
So, if "we" (whomsoever that is) want a clean(er) area
STOP responses of any kind, public or private.
No matter how galling the post, no matter how inane, no
matter how outrageous, I G N O R E I T.
That is, simply put, the ONLY real solution, as NONE of
us are going to support any other solution. If "they"
want to waste bandwidth, we can NOT and DARE NOT try to
stop them in any other way.
We have a constitutional right to IGNORE THEM.
Sincerly,
JEB
(Do I qualify for the list...hehehe, oh well,
time will tell...hehehe)
