N1 on IPX network - What am I doing wrong?

by Chip Tayl » Fri, 24 Jul 1998 04:00:00

I have two PC's networked with Win 95 using IPX protocol.

I can run N1 on each one from within Win95.

When I run N1 on each one using the -n:username switch, then have one
dial and the other answer, the two PC'c never see each other.

For username, I've tried using the usernames used for logging into Win
95 and I've tried using the machine names.

Network DoomII works fine so I know the network is okay.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

You need the HAWAII patch to get IPX to work.

I put it on my web page...

     http://www.cal.shaw.wave.ca/~jmonds/N1Multi.ZIP

Just run MULTI.EXE -n to start multiplayer on both machines.
One will choose ANSWER and the other DIAL... should
be no problem.

Remember, this is a multiplayer program ONLY.
To play single player, run N1 the normal way.

Have fun.
