enough for N4 ?

Nowhere near a computer genius here so I'm asking for opinions while giving
little to work with. Have Nascar,N2,N99 and N3 and all have worked well both on
and off line racing. After reading all the posts on N4 I'm asking for opinions
on whether to even but the game for my computer. Specs as follows:
400 Celeron (not overclocked)
256 meg ram
TNT 2 Video card
24x Samsung SC140B cd
All opinions welcomed but please don't flame the ignorant.
Thanks in advance

You can run it, albeit you will need to tone it down to be  able to run it
at an acceptable frame rate. It's an awesome sim though, and one you can
grow into as you upgrade.

Expect framerate in the low 20's with about everything off and minimal AI.

If you are a true fan of the Nascar series by Papyus, It is worth geting on
your system. You will not truly enjoy the game to its potential, but you
will be able to experience the best racing yet, and get valuable experience
in racing. That way if and when you upgrade, You will already be past the
learning curve.

If you like eye candy, like I do, I'd suggest an upgrade first.  You'll
need most options off & only few AI to get any kind of frame rate.  If
you can live without eye candy, go for it.

You can run it, but you are going to have to run 800X600X16, and you'll have
to tame down the graphics all around.

You will also need to trim the mirror detail down to minimum.  The mirror is
a real FPS killer.

You really need a faster CPU and Video Card...

I'm not sure your processor has the horsepower to feed a faster video card,
so you should wait and do both.

When recommending Overclocking, please make sure you present ALL sides of
the story...

Overclocking doesn't work for everyone.  It can, and has, eaten hardware.

I have nothing against people doing what they want with their systems, but
when recommending this sort of thing to someone who didn't even ask, please
let them in on the whole story :)

It breaks my heart when someone presents a burned-up PC they tried to
overclock based on something they read on the Internet that didn't give the
full story :(

Thanks for all the opinions. I am going to buy the game and as suggested will
at least be past the learning curve when I can upgrade. Thanks for all the tone
down suggestions. It should at least let me run the game.

Sure-you can run it-only it'll look like you just installed N1!
