Nascar 4 - Cars look like toys

I was watching a replay tonight and I was trying to determine why, despite
the nice job Papy did on the graphics, the cars look more like toys than
real cars. Then it hit me - the light reflections are too wide and spread
out on the car bodies. I think if they had reduced the size of the
reflections the cars would look larger and more realistic.

It's a minor point, but I thought it might be interesting.

Yes but what resolution and what bit-rate do you have N4 set to?
1600x1200 made a huge diff for me & 16b to 32b really changes
the optics too. Of course 16b may run better depending on your
video card & cpu speed?

On a different issue,

If you think about the shape, the cigar look, and that N4 is a rewrite of
GPL you can understand where the too-short-front and too-long-rear come
from...always a sore spot for me

One thing about N4, when a 2ghz processor comes out, the detail in the
highest resolution with all the bells n whistles turned on will be awesome
and wont require a patch
:)

Hmm... I'll have to look at the shape again. My sore spot is still the
lighting effects, though. I think the "fatness", for lack of a better term,
of the reflections makes them look like Matchbox cars. Again, for many it's
a minor point but for me it ruins the illusion.
