I always race Lotus, has anyone ever bothered to recreate the JPS livery
from bygone days. Sure, that's not realistic but then again - its a
game.

And it's also one of the greatest looking liveries of all!
Should be fairly easy to re-create....mostly black with gold
pinstriping...which, unless it's created more than a pixel or two wide,
would be hard to make out.  The JPS logo would be the hardest part of the
lot.
Why don't you give it a try, Jim, using Trevor Kellaway's JAM/BMP utility?

        Good News for you. The JPS Lotus you're after can be Found at Pieter's
Grand Prix HomePage under Cars/Older Cars. It was made by PK Arnall and it
is Awesome!!

  Just a related note, I read yesterday that with McLaren's switch from
Marlboro to West cigarettes, Mercedes-Benz is working with the Formula One
team to develop a paint scheme that recalls the Silver Arrows Grand Prix
cars of the 1930s and 1950s.
