A TROUGH OF LOWER PRESSURE ALONG THE WEST COAST WILL CONTINUE TO
MOVE SOUTHEASTWARD AND STRENGTHEN TONIGHT AND SUNDAY. CLOUDS IN
ADVANCE OF THE SYSTEM HAVE ALREADY BEGUN TO SPREAD INTO THE FAR
WESTERN SECTIONS OF THE STATE. THESE CLOUDS WILL THICKEN AND LOWER
TONIGHT AND CONTINUE TO STREAM EASTWARD. SHOWERS AND
MOUNTAIN SNOWS ARE LIKELY OVER THE WESTERN HALF OF THE STATE
BEGINNING TONIGHT. SNOWS MAY BECOME HEAVY OVER THE
WESTERN MOUNTAINS SUNDAY WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNFICANT SNOWS
REACHING THE CENTRAL MOUNTAINS AND SOME ADJACENT HIGHLANDS BY
SUNDAYAFTERNOON.
WHILE THE MAIN CORE OF THE STORM SYSTEM IS STILL FAR TO THE
WEST...SOME CHANGES IN ITS PATH AND INTENSITY ARE POSSIBLE OVER
THE NEXT 24 HOURS. AS ADDITIONAL DATA BECOME AVAILABLE IT MAY BE
NECESSARY TO ALTER THE WATCH AREA OR ISSUE WINTER WEATHER
WARNINGS OR SNOW ADVISORIES. THUS PERSONS LIVING IN OR PLANNING
TRAVEL INTO THE NEW MEXICO MOUNTAINS SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST
FORECAST AND STATEMENTS FOR THIS DEVELOPING WINTER STORM.
