Push going in?

by Douglas Worthingt » Sun, 30 Nov 1997 04:00:00

Hello,

Ok, if a car has a push going into a turn does that mean there is too
much weight on the front right tire?  (In general, on an oval,
Nascar2.  I realize there are millions of combinations.)  If so, then
you can stiffen the right front/add air to the right front, or soften
the left rear/lower air in the left rear?  I think this is what Jan's
quickfix used to say, but he changed it.  Is this theory/real race car
actions and/or is Nascar2/ICR2 is different?

thanks

Yes and No. Since it's also dependant on:

how "hard" you drive into the corner.

How high the right front shock is.

How the right front tire psi is.

This also relates to the right rear.

 (In general, on an oval,

Yes there are, but physics is physics no?; )

  If so, then

Do the following things for "entering" a corner with a push:

1) lower right psi or raise right rear psi.

2) lower right front shock or raise rear shock.

3) INCRease rear bias.

I think this is what Jan's

They are different. Setting up a car in N2 different than in ICR2. Also, setting up a car in N1 is different in N2.

You don't need as much weight in N2 as you did in N1. The way you setup shocks are different in N2 than in N1.. Got it??: )

There are also some other things that are different. I could go on.. But I won't, too many traffic in RAS lately..

take care
