I m going to buy a wheel in order to play with f1racing simulation and toca.
(hell, both are great games!)
Which is the most  sturdy?
Is that worth waiting force feedback wheels (per4mer for example).
 thanks
(excuse my french accent...)

  Hey Jean-Francois,
If you can find a friend or somebody who has a wheel and test it first.
Many of the arcade racers like TOCA are practically undrivable with wheels.
Just about any game that is a Playstation port is expecting a on/off digital
gamepad, and so far, none of the game companies have figured out that folks with
3000 dollar computers would rather play with thier toys(wheels! etc).  Otherwise
we could spend less than some do for wheels and get a playstation or two to tap
tap tap our way around the courses.

What a load of pish

I have a Formula 1 (Nascar Pro in USA), and it is great with TOCA and F1RS.
Have to set sensitivity to low for TOCA, but it drives great.

I have had the Thrustmaster T1, and the T2.  Now, I use the Thomas Super
Weel.  The T1 was worn out within the first year.  The T2 was worn out and
falling apart in the first 9 months (after replacing the pedal springs at
least 6 times).  I've had my TSW for about 14 months and it is still
flawless and like new.  And I drive almost every day.  And it comes with a
lifetime warranty.

I have played both the TOCA and F1RS demos with my TSW and I get very
different results.  F1RS is basically undriveable (huuuuge dead spot
in the center) and TOCA is great.

The huge dead-zone in F1RS is because you're using the default wheel
loc, which is excessive except at Monte Carlo. Since you're only using a
limited amount of the steering's wheel travel, it feels quite digital.
Turn it down to 14 or 16 degrees and adjust the set-ups to suits and it
will feel much better. Look at the drivers on TV, frantically crossing
their arms all through the corners, it should be that way for us too!

Sheesh...Why won't AOL stop giving all that free time to new
users?!  I seem to be grouped in with an odd crowd at times.  =|

The best wheel?  In order of preference (and SRN's testing<g>):

#1 - Virtual Vehicle (Interactive I/O)* - not cheap
#2 - ECCI - not cheap either
#3 - Thomas Super Wheel - best bang for your buck, bar none!
#4 - GP500 - very well made system
#5 - NASCAR Pro - best entry wheel, same cost (approx) as T2
#6 - T2 - cheap, easily breaks under daily driving

*My own, nearly 2-years of flawless (daily) service.  =)

Cheers!

like this thing, comes with a 3yr warranty, only $49.00 with the $20 CH
rebate.
