Sports cars question...

by Simon Brow » Fri, 02 Jun 2000 04:00:00

I was just wondering if someone can tell me where the top Sports Car teams
race now.  The FIA Sports Car series is just the Lister, Vipers, Marcos' and
a load of Porsches (and a few others) so where do the Le Mans cars (Nissan,
BMW, Toyota, Mercedes etc) actually race now, if anywhere?

The BMW, Audi and Panoz  teams race in the USA in the ALMS series and will
be at Le Mans(actually, not sure about BMW). Nissan, Toyota and Mercedes
have pulled out of international sports car racing for the time being,
Nissan is almost broke, Toyota and Merc claimed their F1 and CART efforts
used up the necessary resources to go sports car racing. Personally, I think
they got fed up with the FIAs constant screwing with the rules.

Nope...Audi/Joest are the odds on favorite. I'll be pulling for Mario in the
Panoz with Magnussen and Brabham. Here is a great site for Le Mans info:
