Dukes of Hazzard - Wheel??

Dukes of Hazzard - Wheel??

by Ben » Mon, 31 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to setup Dukes of Hazzard to use a steering wheel?
I have a Thrustmaster T2, which works fine in my other games, but I
cannot work out how to tell DoH to use it.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Ben

Grand Prix Legends accepts wheels without question. I wonder why this fine
title doesn't.

response" posting's

I don't have the solution for you at the moment Ben, but if our office copy
is still knocking about I'll try it at work tomorrow on one of our test
systems and let you know if it's possible.

Dukes of Hazzard - Wheel??

I'm sorry, but I don't find this question funny at all -- remember, the
Dukes of Hazard game supposedly came from the same engine that was
supposed to become "Trans Am Racing 1967 - 1972," and THAT was supposed
to be a GPL/West Brothers-caliber simulation.  If there IS any
similarities between TAR and DoH, then it saddens me that something
could be dumbed-down so much (although I must admit that I haven't
played DoH myself yet, but the reviews -- and lack of steering wheel
support -- do not sound promising.

The cancellation of TAR marked a sad moment in the world of sim racing,
and DoH is no consolation prize -- nor is it a laughing matter.
Laughable, perhaps, but . . .

;-)

Because GPL is a sim, and DoH is an arcade game that includes some
driving aspects, but keyboard-only controls.  What a sad waste of the
General Lee, though.

Well, it was a valid comment about GPL identifying a wheel with no
problem, and that is not necessarily an unrealistic expectation for
DoH.  On the other hand, it wasn't all that great of a response to the
original question . . . <G>

Dukes was the absolute WORST excuse for a driving game I have EVER
encountered..  I was hoping for something driver-ish (was I expecting too
much?!!?) and what I got made Mario Kart look like GPL.
It wasn't any where near worth the 3.20 I spent on cd's burning it on to.
what a disgrace.
I kept thinking I was missing something.... but no.  It just sucks.
I think they spent all their time on voice over and video and at the last
minute remembered they were making a game so they threw in some race code.
just garbage.

That is outrageous!!!! $3.20 for CD"S?????
Man you got jipped. I pay about .50 cents USA a disc.
May have made your Dukes burn a little easier to take.

Seriously. I have this game for the playstation (a gift) and it is not
terrible. But of course with the Analog PSX controller you can actually
control the car, it is not to the level of Driver (even the PSX version of
Driver) but not terrible. I was amazed at the low quality of the 3D engine,
since it was derived from that amazing looking Trans Am game...
I think I need to make my own game... no one ever seems to get them right...

Dukes of Hazzard - Wheel??

by Steven Crook-Dawkin » Tue, 01 Aug 2000 04:00:00

Apologies if someone already suggested this.

On my Logitech wheel, I can set up profiles to allow
the wheel to replace certain keystrokes.

I'd have thought this would allow some limited wheel use
in a keyboard only game.

Is that Logitech software that allows you to do that, is it freeware,
or is it part of Windows?

I might try and have a go with that...

Cheers,

Ben
