Hi!

This is just to inform you that my petition to bring back CART/NASCAR on
european TV is closing in a few days (July 11.) If you haven't signed it
yet, please do so now and let your friends know as well! The petition can be

When it closes, I will send all the signatures to both CART and Eurosport
along with an explanation of what it's all about. Suggestions are welcome!

CART coverage on Eurosport has really gone downhill this last year.  I can't
believe they choose not to show live CART so they can get SportsCentre on
time when the races are delayed ten minutes by rain.
And instead of showing live Le Mans 24 hrs they showed Euro 2000 hi-lights
all night.  Last year there was about 16 hours of live Le Mans on British
Eurosport.  This year about 6 hours, and they show endless football all
night.  Nothing wrong with football, my favourite sport, but let's face it,
we all saw the football live on other channels.  They had a chance to show
some Live sport which no other channel had and they blew it.
They really need to get their priorities sorted.  I've signed the petition.

I've signed it too, but my main hope is that (for the UK at least)
someone else will pick it up - I've already mailed the BBC and hope
plenty of others will too!

With CART coming to Europe next year it makes sense for *someone* to do
it...

Plus there's the two British drivers as well, not to mention the fact that
the racing is way better than F1.  Channel 5 already have the hi-lights so
maybe they could show it live instead, afterall, no one ever watches their
films. :)
