Btw speaking of Mexico City...
I was watching "Nine days in Summer" and stopped on a sequence at Mexico
City. Those "cement tyres" as we name them were in fact not filled, just
normal tyres painted in white ! I do not know if this is an error by the GPL
team or a limitation of the engine (Im not sure if flexible polygons are
possible). At least they are not that hard and you don't get suspension
damage in GPL when you pass on them.
The sequence that cought my eye is when a Cooper is shown in the "Esses"
part of the circuit. You can clearly see a wheel passing over one of those
tyres, squishing it and it reforms back to the normal after.

As I said depends on the angle and how many you hit. Just one on the side of
the wheel doesn't make much damage (no difference between this and going
airborne). But get the domino effect and hit them all, heh that's another
thing ;)

Is there a difference between the Win 98 Watkins Glen GPL demo and the new
Mexo City demo BESIDES just the different track?
Those damn things are what have kept me (so far) from making concerted
efforts at going quick there... too frustrating! :-(

"Racer X
Veteran Sim Racer
Victory Lane"
in their signature and doesn't already own a copy of GPL....?

Your point being? You know it's not necessary to own every racing game out
there.

The tracks are awesome. Watkins Glen is a great example to show off the
physics. You get long straights, S-turns, fast corners, slow corners and a
wicked crown in the road to make camber setup a nightmare :-)

Racer X, man, do yourself a favor...

Heh, just controlling the thing is a nightmare:-)

The "game" thing was in reference to an earlier poster speaking of racing
games in general, while I'd like to think of GPL more as a racing simulator.
But the "It's a game, No it's a simulator" debate has been rehashed before,
let's not thread there again.
Anyway, looking at your .sig, I thought something
like "Veteran Sim Racer == Grand Prix Legends" and was kinda surprised
you didn't already owned a copy.
Please please PLEASE go get it.
And Viper Racing too. Knock yourself out!!! :-)
/peter
Viper's ok. Although, I'm more of a closed circuit racer, viper is fun. I
just can't wait for the SCGT demo to come out.
