How fast is SCGT on your machine?

The thing is that we're about to buy some new workstations
at my workplace for senior staff here so I'm wondering if we
could all spec the same machine (to lower TCO) and we can commonly
install and play network games (and office applications as well
I suppose). Probably Intel 500+Mhz some 32Mb high-speed AGP card.

We wanna play network SCGT at 1,024 x 768. Quake3. Rogue Spear. etc.
SCGT is allegedly quite system intensive. Sort of.

I have a 464Mhz Celeron running voodoo2 sli and SCGT is fine
at SCGT/GPL except if you start in 16th position and some
bozos stacking it on the first corner. GPL is fine but that's
Glide for you! SCGT is fine except if you get say 6-8 cars in
your field of view and then the FPS falls to 24-25 fps (subjectively)
Is there a frame counter in SCGT like the Alt-F in GPL?

How does it run on other cards? It seems pretty good on my
new Celeron 566Mhz and g400 32Mb but it's little less stable
due to funky Matrox drivers. Oh well.

Anything thoughts? Of course I need 1,024 and everything turned
on and full field. I don't wanna miss a thing. I start in 16th
and thread my way thru the pack since that requires some skill.

I think most of those will play well over a lan net, but I've heard,
even in a lan situation, that SCGT is just slow.  There are some
framerate fixes that private users have made.  They may help.

Please share where I might find these!  I'm about to check out
gtinsider, but hoped you might have a direct link to something.

things aren't as smooth as I'd hoped - still love the game, though!

Thanks!
