GP2: USA. version screwed again?

Did anyone notice that the North American (USA) version of GP2 only
came with one manual? I thought I remember reading that the Euro
version had 2 manuals? One was the manual for game setup and the other
for technical things?

Is both subjects combined into one manual?

Also, wasn't there supposed to be color pictures in the manual? The
one I have is all in black and white?  Did the Americans get screwed
again?

I think so. We did get 2 manuals and the main one is full on color.
Have a nice day

The MPS (UK) version is also distributed "Down Under". The box contained
a glossy FULL (glorious) colour (approx A5) manual which was about 1cm
thick, an A5 stapled B&W tech supplement, 1 CD (in jewel case, but no
boxart slip-in case inserts) & the rego card.

We got plain old 'no sponsers on the cover'' green & red box art as
usual (ie: similar to the no "Du Pont" on the NASCAR cover), you got
prettier box art...with apols to those who might be offended by this the
subjectivity of my personal preference <g>.

If it's any comfort to you, in my experience US software is nearly
always better in terms of manuals & price etc, and I often buy US mail
order for these reasons. (No ***y tri-lingual manuals for a start!) On
this particular occasion, the US (unusually) appears to be "getting the
raw prawn" from what you say.

The UK (AUS) manual is a pure work of art.

True enough.

But I will say that the US version is difficult- for one, it took me
1/2 hour to figure out how to change my car setup- when I searched for
manual info, I had to finally decide that  *it simply isn't in the
manual how to get there*. The manual just starts talking about the
grandeur and wonder of changing car setups... Go ahead, look at the US
page 24.

I love the game/sim. But I guess this is one place where americans get
served second.

Anybody know if there is a way to restart a "quickrace" with a
keyboard combo? Kind of like <shift-R> in ICR2? Next version of GP2
should have something like that for the "Quickrace", if it isn't in
there now, since it is a throw-away race anyway. And waiting for it to
load up again is a pain.

Also, what is the qualitative difference between the big-install and
the little (9 meg) install? Out manual doesn't say.

I have the USA version too; check the "Car Setup Procedure Guide", Appendix C,
starting on page 88.

Hmmm...  I found it without too much difficulty.  I guess it only took me a
couple minutes to flip through all the menus until I found what I wanted.
My problem is the opposition on anything higher than amatuer setting.  Boy,
World Circuit never had opposition like this.  Much better, but TOUGH!!
They don't seem to lock their brakes like I do!
