X-pansion packs out in UK...well almost!

I have European release of track pack, which is distributed by ***.
In fact the label says "INDYCAR TRACK PACK PC3.5 UK", which must mean
it is the UK release, although I bought it from Finland.

It does NOT include Indy500, but it does have "response card".  The IMS
costs 9.99 pounds, and according to the ad it contains the paint kit.

And now to the funny part: The card says "For UK customers only", I
wonder how I'm going to buy the IMS here in Finland.  No wonder I
always get bit nervous, when I hear that something is going to be
distributed by British company;-)  Hornet by MP UK, Frontier by GameTek,
ICR addons by ***...

(There are exceptions to this, I have only good things to say about DI).

X-pansion packs out in UK...well almost!

For all those in the UK who are chomping at the bit to get hold of the
ICR expansion packs I have some good news and some bad news...

The 'track pack' is out today.  The chap at Computermate (see any PC mag
for their number) was going down to pick it up this savvie.  Mine will be
in the post tonight.

For reasons as yet unknown *** have decided to change the contents of the
packs and only make one available for sale to the public (the track pack).
According to matey at CM the track pack INCLUDES the IMS (I'll believe it
when I see it on Monday) but not the paint kit proggie (as for V1.05 I
don't know whether its in the track pack or the 'other' pack).  This 'other'
pack will only be available from *** direct which presumably means I
should have returned my registration card (oops!).  Further bad news is
that it won't be available till September (yikes!).  Now if someone could
shed some light on the reasons behind this I (and presumably a few other ICR
***s this side of the Atlantic) would like to know.

I'll fill in any further details regarding the contents of the 'track pack'
when I get mine.  Happy driving.

X-pansion packs out in UK...well almost!

**STOP PRESS**STOP PRESS**

Got my track pack today so I thought I'd make some changes based on what I
found...

Yes and no.  No they haven't changed the contents but yes they have decided
(in their wisdom?) to not put the IMS pack out to sale.  With the track
pack comes a flyer with a little form on it to be sent to *** in the UK
requesting the IMS pack (for the sum of #9.99).  That's the only way to get
it so it would seem.  The track pack contains:

        v1.05
        replay editor
        car setup printer
7 tracks (you know which ones they are !)

and costs #14.99 from any of the direct sale companies.  Probably a few quid
more in the shops.

There was no mention in the flyer WHEN the IMS pack was available.  The
wording tended to indicate it was available now (which is not what I
was told over the phone by the chap I bought the track pack from). I'm
sending off for it now anyhow !

Happy racing.
