As someone with some racing experience (drove a few Nascar modifieds on
an empty track when my uncle use to build them - No Troyer by any means
=) and SCCA in GT1 and Sport 2000's)... I can agree with
you... I want a SIM not an arcade game. BUT.. there are
many people who just want to have fun with a game.. it doesnt necessarily
have to be "realistic" for them to enjoy it and make it worth the money
to them. I personally am not a drag racing fan (although i
do respect their skills and technology)... I just like my races to
last longer than a few seconds =) However... since there
are not many, if any, alternatives for Drag Racing fans.... it will
probably do well.
> There is a new game coming out endorsed by HOTROD magazine.
It's a drag
> racing game and It has a bunch of muscle cars you can race and tweak.
Check
> it out at www.bethsoft.com. It will support multiplayer and
3DFX!!!! I'm
> pretty e***d.

I was too, at first. But sorry, no***pit view... I'm not interested.
There's another drag racing sim in the works, but I can't remember
who's
doing it. It's suppossed to be funny cars and fuelers with a***pit
view. It will get my money, not an arcade-view "sim". The reason
I do
this sim thing is to immerse myself into my make-believe world of being
a race car driver... it doesn't help that immersion for it to appear
as
though I'm strapped on the roof, of trailing what must be my
radio-controlled car from a follow-along helicopter. For me... it's
inside the car or forget it... whatever the sim.

I'm sure lot's of people will buy and enjoy the Burnout game, and I'm
happy for them. But I know what I want in a sim... and this one's
not
for me. Now... if they change their minds and put in a***pit
view...
it's a given, I'll buy it.
