Well I pissed...more at myself than Papy or Sierra.  I was like everyone else--
chomping at the bit for the 3d patch.  Come to find out it was in vain-- at
least for me.  Cause my STB 128 card don't do 3dfx, only d3d. Kiss my rear,
about my luck.  OK so to the point...will the N3 support d3d or do I need to
get a new video card...is it worth it.  Man, I just dropped $3K to be able to
run N2.  Now I got to get another video card... Arggggg,  where will it all
end.  It would be nice if all these computer/softwhare companies could develope
a standard rather than all this craziness.  I guess that's the American way.

Any how--- HEEEELP!

Yeah, the bad news is it doesn't support D3D...the good news is that you can pick
up a used 3dfx card for under $100, a new 3dfx Voodoo 2 for under $200, or a
Hercules Thriller 3d (Rendition, which Nascar 2 also supports) for $140. If money
is an object, get a used 3dfx. It will work nicely in combination with your STB
card.

With the new Voodoo II boards out, there is a flood of used Voodoo 1 boards for
sale, I've seen them as low as $75.00. I'm looking for another one to go with
my existing Pure 3D. Look around on the newsgroups.

Well, I would say that Voodoo(1 or 2) is the way to go. This seems to be THE
videostandard for gamessoftware, nowadays. GPL will support 3dfx, so we might
assume that N3 will also support 3dfx. Btw, I don't have a 3dfx card, but I will go
for a Voodoo2 card, when I have the money.

Cheers!
