NASCAR -> "Press ESC" problem.

by Dan » Thu, 29 Jun 1995 04:00:00

The following problem occurs in championship mode or single race.
While racing at any track and I get into an accident which leaves me out on
the track with a blown engine, the software displays " PRESS ESC". If I press
the ESC key which brings me to the menu panel and look at the standings I'm
not considered out of the race. If I save the race weekend and then comeback,
I'm still out on the track with a blown engine, unless I select "new" and
start all over again.

I'm running Nascar version 1.2

Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.

Try pushing 'a' to accelerate time and finish the race.  I don't know of
any way to automatically finish the race without you, and don't _think_
it can be done.

If you blow up, the only options are:

1) escape...this basically junks the race
2) sit there and watch the world go by...the race will eventually end
(albeit if you are in the middle of the track probably under caution a
LONG TIME later)
3) press "a" for accelerated mode...this is non-reversable but at least
gets your car off the track (marks you as a DNF) and finishes the race
up.
