Anyone enjoying Network Q RAC Rally?Or not....

by Slee » Thu, 28 Nov 1996 04:00:00

I got a friend that owes me a game for the PC,
Don't know whether to get this or not...

I've read mixed reviews, some great, some not so great...
I love , no, LOVE, GP2, and am a big fan of NASCAR, Fatal Racing, NFS etc.

Anyone reccommend buying Network Q RAC Rally or not? I'd really appreciate
the inside track on this one :)

Thanks in advance,
And if it wouldnt be too much trouble, could replies be emailed too?
I dont get a lot of time on the net these days :((

Again, thanks a million,
Stephen McSweeney.

Stop!!!! Don't buy it *yet*

Europress have f*cked up badly.  Ocean Software are bringing out a
compilation with 3 games and a joypad.  They licensed what they
thought was the original RAC Rally game from Europress.
Unfortunately for Europress, due to a legal mix-up, Ocean ended
up getting the rights to the brand new Rally game instead :)

So, for about 29 quid, you get 3 games and a joypad (including
the new RAC Rally game).  Not sure when it's coming out, but it
will be before Christmas.

On the other hand, in my honest opinion, Screamer 2 feels a lot
better to drive.  Basically, it's Sega Rally for the PC.  Gorgeous
graphics, nice feel in the car handling department.

Did you try the demo?

It sucked!

No matter how fast went, the car would always corner -- no real driving
feel.  Really too bad for a 19mb demo too!

I've only seen one game recently that sucks worse - Destruction Derby 2

Hey,

I disagree, RAC rally is a great rallysim, it drives better than Screamer 2
and the grafix are better than GP2, even on a low spec. machine.

Just for your info the other two games are PGA European Tour 1996 and
Star Trek: Next Generation...well, some Star Trek game anyway...didn't
see no joypad in the pack though! 34.99 in the shops now!
