Well, we got this awesome movie first at www.gp500.net yesterday. As a
world-exclusive, it seems they posted it without including us in it or
asking our permission...

Oh well, what I was going to post: "You can post your comments on the avi on
our GP500.Net Forum and the guys from Melbourne House will reply to your
questions and comments every now and then. You can find the #1 Source on
Microprose's GP500 at www.gp500.net...

I too can't believe at a newsgroup that is supposed to be visited by serious
sim enthusiasists that no one is talking about this AVI. The graphics are
close to, or the equal of, Rally Championship. The physics look fantastic. I
ride motorcycles and all of the subtle movements and reactions that should
be there, are there. It seems to me that this could be a fantastic sim yet
all people here seem to want to talk about is ride height and bumper stops.
Whoooopee. :-P

Lets squash the runours about this being the GP3 engine. GP3 might be
distributed by the same company but is being programmed by an entirely
different group of programmers. This engine will be used in future releases.

Any way, since Motorcycle racing in infinately superior to car racing it is
only fair that Gp500 has the best graphics engine!

Did you read my article in this NG about the BETA testing I have been doing on
the game? Got plenty of mail about it but only one post on this NG. Got to the
GP500.net site and join in the other GP500 ethusiasts there. I will be posting a
more detailed acount of the features that I can honestly comment on from the
BETA sessions. There are some areas where the BETA is not yet advanced enough to
comment on or I having spent sufficient time playing with but I am sure somebody
can answer jsut about any question you have on the game.

What can you say about an AVI?  Yep, it looks excellent, and the early buzz
sounds likewise(thanks Mark; keep 'em coming:-)).  But we sim types tend to get
off on the techie bits, you know, and until we can start twisting the knobs
on(off?) our NSR's and boring everyone with motorbike suspension arcania, we're
gonna rant about Lotus bump ***s and the like.  As one who's taken a brief
spin on an ex-works Kawasaki 500 GP bike some years back, I DO hope they nail
it.  Won't be easy, as the control routines are tough to translate into
available PC controllers.  We shall see.

Cheers,

Steve B.

It's pretty impressive I agree David.  I hope to see other companies go the
same way and create such high-quality AVI's, not the crappy job Papyrus did
with the Nascar3 video (included 40seconds of the "Papyrus" logo hehe).  I
hope Europress does one for their Rally title.  If GP500 is that advanced in
physics and only set to be released in the year 2000, I do not see why they
couldn't do the same.

rec.bike.simulators ?  ;-P

This movie had the same  feeling that I had when Papy released the full
Monza lap duel for GPL back 2years ago.

Gives me the same feeling as the Nascar 3 video.  Incredible physics,
dynamic lighting and skid marks, and very nice graphics.  I was thinking
since Microprose did GP2, that GP3 would have the same physcis model.
I'm reading now that they are just the publishers and not the developers.
What developer did Geoff Crammond work with when GP2 was created?

September release for GP500?  That would be very cool.  Now I need a

Thomas Enterprises.  Call me a dreamer...
