GPL tire squeal

Randy Cassidy, your opinion on this would be greatly appreciated. With
Nascar3 on the horizon I think this could really be an excellent
addition. But youll probably wrong me again:))
What is everyones opinion about different tire squeal sounds for the
front and rear tires in GPL.Awhile back I was posting about using
4speakers for the tire squeals.Front speakers for the fronts and rear
for the rears. It never caught anyones attention and so I gave up on
asking Papy for it in a patch. But I believe that different tire
squeals for the fronts and rears would be a more practical approach
since everyone doesnt own a 4speaker setup and would give a valuable
feedback to driving on the edge of traction.

The Rouen track is so awesome in my brand new Lotus. My first attempt
at this track with a Lotus and a lowrider default setup was a
blistering 1:58:14.My best with my rookie ride(Cooper)was an on its
edge 2:00:25.How can differing screech sounds help me to drive better
you ask.Take the last turn at Rouen that leads onto the front straight
as one of many places this could help.My technique is to accelerate up
to 3rd gear before the turn and just maintain the revs below below the
redline until the turn-in point, lift slightly and hug the apex....wait
awhile and then gun it "knowing" that my rear tires are already on
their edge and that the rear will step out under power. This works
perfectly for qualifying where I can do the same speed thru that turn
everytime BUT not in traffic since the degree of slip at the front and
rear will differ at varying speeds.By taking the turn slower than
usual and having different tire sounds,I could easily tell that my
rear tires are not at their edge while my fronts are and we all know
what a burst of fuel will cause here.Gunning the throttle at this
moment will not break the rears loose but instead transfer more weight
off the already sliding fronts and off the track I go.By just this one
example I could see many other places this would help out in GPL.The
Rouen hairpin is understeer hell in the Lotus and it would be great to
just hear the fronts sliding and know that more screech sounds does
not mean the rears are breaking loose.Does anyone see my point here?
Would it work to give a better feel to GPL?The fast righthander at
Rouen would also benefit from this.As fast as possible without
understeering off the track is the name of the game here.Hearing the
front tires reach their edge will signal that more steering lock wont
help out but that a reduction in throttle will. This example shows that
it could help out with Nascar3 since excess wheel lock will burn the
softer tires too quickly and will slow you down excessivly on the
ovals.
Anyone care to comment here. Please do as I really feel this would
help out I would like to know I am wrong here.

An excellent suggestion, in my opinion.  It would help me a lot in GPL and
presumably so in N3, too.

ICR2 used different "skidding" sounds for front and back. It was an excellent
feature for exactly the reasons you describe. I'm not sure why Papy didn't
keep the idea in GPL.... would be good.

Wow,I didnt know this about ICR2.If Randy Cassidy could give us the
reason why they changed it to the way it is now would be great.

I like the idea of surround squeal.

Excellent idea! Especially in surround. Send it in to Papyrus now, while
they still have time to put it in the patch.
