Can you imagine how much fun it would be to experience a sim with
graphics and sound as rich as say, "NFS High Stakes" (except for the
tires - I'll take my 'round' GPL tires) and the physics of GPL or better?
This may just be what we will get with WSC...

Here's to high hopes!!!

BTW - if you haven't tried NFS4 (High Stakes) you really are missing out
on a lot of fun.  Sure it's not a simulator - but WhoooHaaaa it is a
BLAST!

"Working to get back on the road, sliding through the mud - rain and dirt
are pounding on my windshield, and leaves are falling from the trees
blowing through the air!  On another track as my McLaren gets airborne
in the night sky and the revs climb to the redline, I see fireworks in
the sky ahead.  When I come down the force feedback almost rips the wheel
from my hands as my car slides into the brick wall on the side of the
road.  Sparks fly and I lose my right front headlight from the
collision..."

The physics really aren't that bad.  The***pit view for driving is
really pretty good as well.  Take a break from GPL and have some fun ;)
If you don't have the NFS4 demo you should check it out!

And to high hardware requirements...
Of course, it didn't stop GP2. If it's good enough, we'll have yet
another excuse in store for the next upgrade round.

Yep, the overwhelming FF certainly complements the visuals. They could
sell it to gyms as an upper body training device, but then, the visuals
of the gym often exceed those of NFSHS's - a few trimmed female bodies
shure make my GPU overheat, prolly due to their insanely high polygon
count, and don't get me started on the infinitely detailed textures;
first I start skipping frames and finally freezing occurs ;)

Not to mention how a "little mishap" like that may make your life
difficult in a night race. One of the more hair-raising situations
developed when I was driving a career mode AAA class night race at Rocky
Pass (the twisty mountain circuit inherited from NFS3). The start was a
real demolition derby, and while I found myself from third place, both
of my headlights had expired. The race leader made a quick getaway while
others were scrapping metal, so I was more or less forced to trail the
2nd place car. Halfway through the race I rear ended it, and managed to
put out its remaining tail light. Luckily its headlights were still
working, but shadowing it wasn't exactly a joyride now. In the last
corner of the last lap I decided to use my one and only chance and make
a run for it. Under the lucky stars I managed to bump the AI car from its
line and accelerate along the straight in pitch-darkness to snatch the
2nd place. But boy, did the repairs tax my account... that McLaren road
car is a financial disaster waiting to happen.

Um, I won't say anything bout the physics. When I grabbed the game I was
very close to abandoning it in 15 minutes because it felt so ridiculous,
but since I had paid for it, and where I live it's generally not possible
to return an opened box to the shop (because of the copying), I decided
to at least admire the graphics and check out each track. In just few
hours I was converted, and started really having fun with the game. That
hasn't changed since, and especially multiplay has been exhilarating.
I'll have to agree with you, often HS has provided a healthy break from
GPL just by being so different. I actually drove my Nrburgring PB 8:27
in December right after relieving my frustration with a quick game of
NFSHS. Sometimes it's almost therapy, and it's always fun.
