OT: MX300 microphone level

I've just done a full re-install and I'm getting a very weak microphone level.
When I first started using Roger Wilco, I remember having to go into registry
and change a mike level value, but now I can't seem to figure it out.  Anyone
remember where to find it?

TIA,
Don McCorkle

Don,

It's not in the Registry.  It's under Control Panel/Multimedia (in Win
98)/Recording/Microphone Balance/Advanced/Mic Boost.

I've been to all the normal places and EVERYTHING is set to full blast,
including a checkbox for extra mic gain.  The same thing happened before and
some helping soul explained exactly what to do, I had to go in and edit some
setting in the Windows Registry.  I remember that much quite clearly, where
exactly it was in the registry is gone.  Thanks for the suggestion, but that's
not it.
