Looking for high quality replacement pots for steering wheel.

Is 2 watt better than 1 watt or 1/2 watt ?
Is 100K Ohm better than 200K Ohm ?
Is Resistance Tolerance of 10% better than 5% ?
Which is better, Cermet, Plastic, or Carbon ?

Have found the following online. Has anybody used these ?
Which is better ?
DigiKey Clarostat
#308NPC104-ND
#309NPC104-ND

DigiKey Precision
#RV4N104C-ND

At http://www.racesimcentral.net/~thomas/prods.htm, TSW lists
DK Pots used by HAL league racers.
Spec Pots with 2 million cycle rotational life.
For non-TSW owners, who manufactures the DK and Spec Pots and where
can they be ordered online ?

What are the pots used in the ECCI ?
For non-ECCI owners, who manufactures the ECCI pots and  where can
they be ordered online ?

Any other potentiometer suggestions ?

Thanks in advance.

There are different size pots, bushings, shafts etc. Is this for a TM product or
do it yourself project?

1/2 watt pots are sufficient for controllers
.>Is 100K Ohm better than 200K Ohm ?
100k linear taper should work fine.My TM Nascar Pro has 250k linear taper
pots.I haven't owned it long enough to need replacements so I haven't
experimented yet.

10% tolerance means a 100k pot could measure 90k-110k.As the controllers don't
use the full rotation of the pot you will not notice a differance.

Cermets are generally used in industrial applications, very heavy
duty.Conductive plastic is an excellent choice, last would be Carbon.

The pc in the part number NPC means it's for a printed circuit application, you
want "solder lugs".

The Spec Pots look to be Spectrol brand model 157,not positive about that
because the picture is tiny.I'll do a little checking in my catalogs. The DK is
probably an OEM pot stamped with DigiKey's name.

I haven't seen any pictures of the ECCI pots so I can't tell you.

Check the pots specifications for "rotational life",2 million is about as high
as I've seen.Need any more info just post or e-mail me.Dave.

Plastic, surprisingly, are the best. Spectrol make very good ones,
supply both in US and UK and even have a web site
http://www.spectrol.com/
