I've heard that a new f1 manager game is out. I think the name is Team
F1. Has any of you seen the game? Is it a good one?

Oh, is it a manager-type game? I saw the box on an Expo last week, but there
was no one I could ask what it was. Anyone has more info ??

Got it just today. Haven't checked it out yet, though. I had the
Europress's F1 Manager for a day, but returned it to the store
(incomplete manual, some bugs, missing online-helps... I just
didn't feel it was worth the huge time-and-effort investment).
I fear that the EA's Team F1 won't be much better (better in a
subjective way; I don't like games which are _too_ much like real
work.

Both games are originally German, btw. F1 Manager is by Software
2000, and Team F1 by Ascon (Ascaron?). On first impression, F1
Manager may have a bit nicer graphics, but Team F1 appears to
have speech :)

I highly recommend this game to all accountants.  It is *that* exciting!
(Actually, it is very well done, better than MPS GP Manager in most, if not
all, respects but just too much like real life!  just shows that some of us
prefer to be drivers rather than managers!)

I took a quick look to the Team F1, and I must say the production
values here are lower than in F1 Manager. Team F1 does not really
look or feel like something from Electronic Arts :(
Team F1's user interface may be simpler to use than F1 Manager's,
but the Manager is better looking. Team F1 uses heavily on
numerical stat displays (for example, in F1 Manager you get to
click-and-point the sponsor ads on the car/driver figure; in Team
F1 you select them in a list). Races in F1 Manager could be
viewed from several camera angles, Team F1 seems to have only one
(TV-director like).

I haven't played Microprose's GP Manager, so I cannot compare
these two with it. F1 Manager may be the winner of the two (note:
I'm not commenting on actual game play; these are just quick
impressions. Both games seem to pay good attention to detail and
simulation value). I'll see tonight if the Team F1 plays faster
and with lesser work load than Manager... OTOH, good management
sims supposedly are slow and detailed affairs (anyone seen arcade
management games ?  I might like it :-).
