I have my gp2 since 4 days.  It is very subjective to give each its
appreciation on performances of gp2 according to its pc. So do like me
, type "gp2 log:on" and look at the file called gp2log.txt.

With my asus t2p4 Pentium166 512 ko 8ns 32 Mo edo and millenuim, i get

Processor (x86): 5
Dos Version: 00001606h
Running under dos
Speed (c.f. DX2-66): 323
Video speed: 496

to my opinion, gp2 needs a Pentuim Pro 200 or the future pentuim MMX
(and a optmized new version)to to bet fluid in SVGA (try to make some
smoke with your tires and you'll see what I mean).

GP2 is made for the PCs we'll find find in the store in one year and i
don't blame Microprose for that (i'm talking about  Gp2 in SVGA).

Give your log:on results to compare performance beetween Pentuim;
PeniumPro and Cyrix M1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last point, GP2 is hard. With gp1 i could start Japan GP in 26th
position and win 15 laps later in ACE mode (same thing with Monaco!!),
but now i'm not enough good to be semi pro. :-(

Yes, I had the same reaction to mine, same video card, except mine
read 86 (roughly), however, a mate across the road has a 2mb DS VRAM
and his comes out 260 or so, but our graphics performance is about the
same, even though the ATI is a much faster card, also he has only 8mb
whereas I have 24mb, is there anything I can do to speed the system
up?

Just checked the video speed of my P133 with 16Mb and ATI Mach 64
video card with 1Mb and got the following - devastating - info in my
gp2log.txt:

Processor (x86): 5
Speed (c.f. DX2-66): 258
Video speed: 70  !!!!!!!!!

Compared to other values I've seen on this list, this is awfully low.
I've tried all sorts of drivers like M64VBE, UNIVBE51, S3SPDUP but
they make no difference. Has anyone any suggestions on how to speed up
GP2 with this card, are should I just get a decent video card?

Thanks, Hans.
