Hello.  Is there a way to reverse the stereo channels in Indy2 or
Nascar?  The sound plays fine, but the channels are screwed up.
Headphones plugged into the opposite ears work fine, for a while, and
they start to hurt.  Any solutions?

Sounds to me like your problem is somewhere between the sound card and the
headphones. If the phones work fine when plugged into a stereo (try more
than one stereo) you can rule them out. Test any extension cords you may
be using the same way. It could be a miswired extension that is causing
this.

After that, the sound card is pretty much the only thing left. If the card
is a well known brand/model, it is unlikely that it would be the source of
the problem.

BTW, what brand of sound card do you have?

No, it's not that.  The headphones and the speakers work fine, but the
stereo channels need to be reversed.  It's like in the game "Descent",
where everything works fine, except the sound for the right channel
comes out on the left speaker, and vice versa.  My intermittent (sp)
solution to this problem is to use headphones, and plug them in the
other way (R for L, L for R).  This solves the problem, but I don't
like using headphones for extended periods of time.

Well, I know it is the soundcard, but I don't think there is a solve
for it, yet.  It's a Aztech Sound Galaxy modem/soundcard combo.

I have the same problem-cars go left to right, sound goes right to left. I also
have the Aztech card.
My solution was to unmount the speakers (from the monitor) and set them on the
opposite side of the monitor. Cheap but effective! :)

My future, permanent fix is one of the following:

You could reverse the wiring on the 1/8" trs plug that plugs into the soundcard
thereby correcting the problem and allowing me to remount the spkrs on the
monitor.

Another option would be to get a new 1/8" male stereo plug AND 1/8" female jack
AND a short length of cable and make an adaptor. Just reverse the wiring of the T
(tip) and R (ring) at one end. This way you don't have to cut into your factory
wiring and you can switch back just by unplugging the adaptor.
