Paris to Dakar ?

After watching highlight coverage of the Paris to Dakar rally this week on
Speedvision, It made me wonder if there has ever been a racing game with
this theme? What are your thoughts... Would a Paris to Dakar Rally game
sell?

Broadsword is in the middle of developing just

Ugh this looks much more like an arcade game.  Unfortunate, but I guess that
such gigantic stage couldn't really happen until somebody creates something
like a game engine that incorporates high-resolution sattelite maps or a
random terrain generator using fractals.

Isn't Broadsword the developers of the critically acclaimed Spirit of
Speed 1937?

They are.  And, with a joystick configuration
utility from www.stickworks.com, it's actually
possible to eliminate the massive deadzone in SoS
and make it drivable.  With any luck, there has
been some refinement in the Broadsword vision of
vehicle control.  :)

I wonder how long the 12 stages will be, I can't see them creating the
300-500 kilometre long stages in the actual event.
