BUT, I have NO CLUE what rendition mode in N2 is. I dont know if I can
run it, basically cause I havent tried, basically cause I dont even know
what it does. Anyone wanna give a brief <or lengthy> definition?

NASREND is a special version of NASCAR Racing 2 that is written for
graphics accelerators that support the Verite 1000 (Rendition) chipset.
Currenly this includes the Intergraph Reactor (or Intense3D), the Screaming
3D and one other adapter from Sierra I think. If you don't have one of
these - don't worry about it. What is offers is slightly better graphics
and improved frame rates - although it is not earth shattering.

Rendition mode refers only to those folks who have installed a Rendition
Verite 3D card in their PC. These cards are made by Intergraph, Sierra
and Creative Labs and cost $150-199. Without a Verite based card you
will not be able to run the rendition mode.

Hello;
It does'nt sound stupid at all :-) To run the rendition
version of nascar you need a rendition equiped video card. Such as
intergraph's 3d reactor; screeming 3d etc. The difference in
performance is amazing. You'll get a higher fps rate and just an
overall smoother game. Eric Busch is preety much our expert in this
newsgroup on this topic so it might help to post a message to him about
any specific questions. I personally bought the Intergraph 3d reactor
and I love it. Good luck with your search.
Rendition-ready software versions (such as included in NASCAR2)
*REQUIRE* that you have a video card with a Rendition Verite chip
(such as the Intergraph Reactor, Sierra Screamin' 3D, CL 3D Blaster
PCI, or Canopus Total3D).
You may run the *standard* executable on *ALL* video cards, but to
take advantage of the Rendition version, you must have the proper
hardware.

$150-199.
Sorry, These cards are NOT made by Intergraph, Sierra and CL. They are
made by Canopus Corporation and then SENT to all the above. Want a higher
end one, get a Total 3D.
Bzzt... sorry, thanks for playing. We have some lovely parting gifts
for you.
Intergraph makes their own card. Creative makes their own card. Only
Sierra contracted theirs out to Canopus.

Sorry,Canopus only makes the Sierra card and their own Total 3d(or whatever
it is called). Intergraph and CL make thier own cards, thay all get thier
chips from Rendition.

Who ***in Cares!!!! You guys are real man. Total Real.
Eric. How u get your homework done? You should spend less time on this
group and more time sleeping with your shitty Intergraph card. GoofBall.
PS- Creative is the best.
BTW I don't have any of those video cards so have no axe to grind but
from what I've read, I would sooner go with something Eric backed than
your opinions.
