grand turismo tire wear

So, I've got a couple of hot cars and my 1B license, how the
heck do I learn how to drive without causing excessive tire
wear?  I've tried less powerful cars and I've tried tuning
braking but nothing seems to help.  I can barely get two laps
out of a set of tires.  I've even tried going around courses
really slowly but I still wear tires out. What am I doing
wrong?

You might consider posting at alt.games.video.sony-playstation2 for more GT

You could always get some racing tyres?

Racing tyres is definitely where you need to be at, get saving up. Don't
confuse the 'blue' phase of tyre wear as being severe delamination - it's
just the *** warming up (but then you already knew that).
Other than that, consider the possibility that you are trying to
accelerate and brake too rapidly, a tip which helped me unlock all the
licences was to move my thumb from the centre of the joystick and towards
the edge - this meant i couldn't force the stick to it's full extent without
bumping my thumb first. Sounds ***but it really helped with the feel of
the car.
Look out for the the little Honda LM Edition - it's a real pocket
rocket. In the meantime feed in the gas gradually, don't lock your brakes,
check your apexes, respect the competition and then come online with GPL and
show us how it's done.

I've been using racing tires!

I've been trying to back off but it's hard with a 1100 hp car!  I think
you're right though, I think I'm just driving too hard. The licenses
I've had the most trouble with are the finesse ones, like driving
the Corvette in a circle.  I can brake hard and pound around a
corner pretty well.

My favorite controller has a big smooth four way button I can slide my
thumb over.  I can steer pretty well but I think I'm having trouble
regulating the gas with just the "x" button.  I've been looking
around for a Mad Catz steering wheel but I can't find one on
the internet or in any of the stores in the Boston area.  I'm thinking
I can regulate the gas a lot better with a pedal.

Thanks.
