Man, I'd love to drive the old Nashville track we had back in N2 instead of another 1.5 miler.

Here's hoping ... :)

My first question is,

How will this work online.

If I'm hosting a truck race, what's to stop guys from joining my server
and driving in Cup cars ?
This was a problem with the Nascar heat truck mod. I hope the wildfire
guys have this figured out.

More interesting perhaps is that it's patch-dependent and uses modified
physics, suggesting...

Goy?  ;-)

My guess is the patch will open the physics, somewhat like the openess
of the F1 2kx line.  If that possible then a virtually unlimited number of
mods may appear.  However, at this time I've only seen the 4 basic
different body styles.  While this won't be a problem for the CTS trucks or
even certain Aussie series with only two car makes, it does limit the mod
to non sportscar series which have any number of different body and physics
combos.  We'll just have to wait and see.

NR2003 kinda works like the major FPS platforms in that "mods" are possible
and protected.  You can't race with a modified track .trk, per example.
Same applies for the physics.  The cars, the way they appear, it's just
graphical appearance.  Wouldn't change a thing if they look like a truck or
a bike or a car.  The real stuff happening is the physics engine.

Thanks, that makes sense :)

Now wouldn't it be cool if the online race menu at Sierra had some
method of indicating which mod the server the hosting.

If we get trucks and GNS, and Bowman-Gray, how 'bout a Legends set to
run on these great old tracks?

Or am I just getting greedy? <g>
