F1CS2K does it prove im getting old?

by captri.. » Tue, 30 Jan 2001 04:31:17

Just got F1CS2K and went through the driving school.  Completed all
parts within a few tries except the Indy "reaction test"  Took me about
100 tries, and then I finally only got through it because I guessed
correctly about the lane 3 of 5 tries.  Anyone else have such a hard
time with this???  OMG...does this mean im not cut out for real life
Formula One racing??  <<<gasp>>>

LOL!  Don't worry, it's not just you -- I must be getting old as well,
because it took me a lot of tries to get the reaction test right!

Don't forget to drop by the Blackhole Motorsports site
(http://www.bhmotorsports.com/) to pick up all the goodies for F1CS2K.
If you're a GPL player, I'd also recommend grabbing the "All Chassis
Patch" for F1CS2K -- this patch give you 11 different chassis (one for
each team) with enhanced the physics, livelier chassis, more responsive
engine inertia, and improved tire stiffness characteristics.

To add further depth to the game, you might also want to check out the
F1CS2K Rank site -- the purpose of this site is to be to F1
Championship Season 2000, what GPL Rank is to Grand Prix Legends.  The
goal with the F1CS2K Rank site is to provide you with an easy way to
compare your times to others, and to give people that isn't even close
to the top 5 or 10 records on other hotlap sites an opportunity
to "compete" on different levels.  Your rank is calculated by adding
all your fastest laptimes together and subtracting the sum of all the
actual 2000 seasons qualifying times.  Tons of fun!

In the meantime, have fun!

;-)

I had exactly the same reults. I put the reaction test disappointment
down to the dead zone in the steering input. (if it s not true, its a
***y good excuse)

I thought the idea of the driving school was excellent, the 130 r
challange at Susuka is great. I m just several 1000th's of a second
from gold there, but just cant crack it.....yet.

btw i am old , well, over 40!!!

cheers

Funny! I've not done the Hot Laps yet, but for me the most difficult
was definitely the Variante della Roggia in Monza, 283 tries!!
The Reaction Test took only 10 tries, the second hardest was the Spoon
Curve in Suzuka, 30 tries. (I do not count the Indy start/stop test,
37 tries, because I tried it many times in km/h mode, when the speaker
told about driving in mp/h's ... ;-)

You're certainly not alone.  I still can't get through that test and have
pretty much given up on it.

You want ridiculous tests... Any one remember GT's Driver? That initial
"test" was so ridiculously hard. :-P  Had to find a cheat editor to
bypass
that test.

I know, it's a stupid arcade game... But it IS auto.simulator.

I've just done that test. And failed. I thought it was impossible.

I'm still far from old(18 years) so your age isn't the problem. It's those
stupid programmers. I can't believe these are also the people that did
sports car gt.
