rec.autos.simulators

I reloaded N2 the other day, (complete install) and I can't believe it: At
EVERY track, in the car set-up area, there are only ACE, FAST, and EASY
setups!!! NO QUALIFYING setups at any tracks!!! Has anyone had this
happen??? I have loaded the game on a computer at work, and this didn't
happen. I have re-loaded it on my computer before and this is the only time
I have ever seen this!!! PLEASE e-mail me if you have seen this before and
know what might have caused it and how to fix it!!!!

Had the same problem after the patch install...
Go into your

c:\sierra\nascar2\tracks\trackname
(assuming this is your path)
directory and type:

attrib -r  <hit enter>

reload the game and you'll be all set.

For whatever reason with the patch (from my experience at least)
it set some of the tracks files to "read only"

Anyway that will fix the problem
