N3 - Car jitters ????

by n1asca » Sun, 19 Sep 1999 04:00:00

I've only had Nascar3 for about 24 hours, but one thing I have notice is
when I get close and right behind a car
the car I'm following seems to get a case of the jitters. All other cars
seem normal and it doesn't  seen to effect frame rate it just doesn't look
right.
anyone else notice this??

Yep. I thought the driver was trying to block me or something. I
have also seen the AI just yank the car over in front of me to block
into a turn. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I was mostly
worried that my Logitech FF USB wheel worked :-)

Yup.  I thinkwhat you're seeing is your car taking the air off the other's
rear wing.  I think the shakes are a bit exaggerated, but valid.

Eh no, in the game the pace car does this as well at the usual
pace car speeds with or without another car directly behind it.
Looks kind of like a freshly poked jellyfish to me.  Very odd.

Yup, looks like one of those dogs with the bobbing head seen in the back window
of some cars years ago.

I think it was stated earlier on that this was the result of pushing the
N2 AI as far as it would go. Maybe some truth to that...maybe if you
play it long enough it'll have a mid-life crisis and retire, Ernie Irvan
style...
