wondered what, if any 'drivers aids' are used by real F1 cars ie. traction
control, launch control etc?
Thanks

Traction control is legal, launch control is legal... abs not legal.
BTW does gp4 still have that "recommended gear" driver aid?
Traction control & launch control, semi automatic gearbox
Traction control made a brief appearance before and was banned but has
since been reallowed. The intensity of traction control is switchable
and variable and can be adjusted during the race in real time by the
driver via a control on the steering wheel.
Launch control is used by all the teams this year, and this is the
second season odf it's use. It usully involves the driver putting his
foot down after engaging the aid (which also contols the revs on the
grid) and pressing a button to release the car with the minimum amount
of wheel spin. Unlike the GP4 launch control, most launch control
systems will also automate the gearbox, changing up through the gears
until pressure on the throttle is eased. Again, this aid is
switchable in real time.
Semi automatic gears are used by some teams in sume races. It
ususally involves the car automatically changing down gears under
braking. This aid can also be overrided by the driver.
