that GPL or N4.
I tried, really tried to drive Malasia for the weekend, and also watched
onboard qualifying on TV. The track is modelled great, it looks awesome, but
the vehiclew dynamics seem all wrong. AI brakes for corners 25 to 35 meters
before the corners. Mika drove (99 season) 1.33 in the friggin RACE. What is
that.
I am so sorry this title did not turn out better. I would play F1CS2000 but
the tracks are so TERRIBLY wrong I just can't get into it. GP3 really
belongs to the last millenium. Now this game comes out, and it turns out to
be such crap. I WANT TO STOP PLAYING BLODDY GPL. I really do. But the way
this one drives just does not cut it.
The controls in my oppinion are the main problem. You just can't navigate
fast sweeping corners. If you want to add a touch or revs (CH Pedals, very
precise) the car just snaps into a *** oversteer, and there is nothing
you can do than. But you CANNOT anticipate it. YOU SIMPLY CANNOT KNOW WHEN
YOU ARE ON THE LIMIT. Either you are too slow, or you spin out. It has to do
with contoroler reading. It has to do with sound. But for now it is almost
unusable. The game is so beautiful it lures you to play it, but than it
frustrates you beyond all recognition. When I drive close to the AI, my
FFeedback goes out of whack, like someone else took over my wheel. WEIRD!
I wish Ubisoft makes the best F1 game. I wish they succedd. Therefore I wish
more of us give them arguments of why the physics and controls, and sound
and AI (obvious) need some serious tweaking. You can still have fun with it,
but that leaves you even more desperate, because the game is so close and
yet so far away in terms of playability.
Can't cry any more. I need to go back and marvel at the beautiful driving
feedback I get from Papy products, and pray that WSC gets released this
year, at least the demo.
Enough babble anyway,
Domi
