Win98SE. Has happened on several machines not just one. You'll be racing
for awhile and then *poof*.
Any thoughts?

Try running N4 in the same exact resolution and colors as you have
your desktop set to (or vica versa). Also try D3D over OpenGL. I
don't know what graphics card you have but that is what did it for me.
I have a Hercules GeForce GTS 64MB DDR Pro (yes, an NVidia based
card).

What is your point Dave?

I am also running a NVidia (Hercules actually) 64 meg card. Direct X
8.0a (what are you running?).
Well, I was being optimistic again. I got a crash last night running
it at 1280x960. 25th lap of 30 on Daytona! Frustrating! I am going
to try it at 1024x768 again tonight. I am also going to try some new
NVidia drivers (either the 6.50 Nvidia ones which I couldn't get my
monitor past 1024x768 with earlier! Or the 10.50 or 10.80 ones from
www.reactorcritical.com which are beta drivers but they are supposed
to be optimized for DX8).
Well, the 7 days I had to return N4 are up so I guess I am going to
keep plugging away until I get it stable! :-)

Ed, if you're still lucking here .. I installed the NVidia 6.50
drivers and was finally able to qualify and then finish Daytona
without a single crash or lock-up!
Still too early to tell perhaps, but am optimistic as always - just a
little more so tonight :-)
