Maybe they're trying to stay on topic :-)

I was keeping out of it for that reason and because, as another Brit, I'm bewildered by
the USA's attachment to firearms. I'm sure I'd love playing with these toys. But I have a
suspicion I'd enjoy hard *** and driving at 200mph down motorways as well. I don't
intend finding out in either case.

***ion to insecurity is as dangerous as any other ***ion. Using guns to treat it is
like trying to cure cancer with paracetemol. It might help the symptoms a little, but it's far
more likely to mask the problem until it's too late.

Was it him going on about "hats" and "people in long coats" after the
recent shootings in the U.S.? That was pretty, well, out there...

Cheers!

And isn't it true that one U.S. school already banned trenchcoats?
Oh well...if all male U.S. citizens would wear a white shirt, a tie,
a cellphone, a handgun and a bible, all would be swell... ;^)

I read in the paper the other day that the "tough" new laws they were
introducing included:

* Buy no more than one handgun per week
* Not allow known criminals to buy black powder
* Make it illegal for juveniles to own semi-automatics
* Make gun shows subject to the same laws as normal shops

Yeah, it's a joke isn't it?  And the National Rifle Association opposes all of these proposals, as
well as ANY limitations on guns and gun ownership whatsoever.
