There is a reason that everyone should use consistent abbreviations in the
subject lines of their posts: For filtering purposes. Things like ICR2, GP2,
NASCAR not only give you a visual clue what the post is about, but you can also
set your newsreader to filter any out that you're not nterested in. If you
like NASCAR but don't want to hear about GP2, set your killfile to wipe out
all subject lines with the string "GP2" in 'em. That'll knock half the visible
traffic so you don't have to "sort through" so much. If you don't how to use a
killfile, check your newsreader documentaion. It can usually be figured from
on-line help. In any case, it's not difficult; it just takes a little research.
(Certainly less work than a good car set-up! ;)

Oh, and if you're on AOL: Too bad, get a real ISP! Sorry, but I do believe the
AOL news stuff sucks and doesn't support the basics like killfiles.

: Unfortunately not everyone has a registered or newsreader that
: supports killfiles.  I've found that is one of the features disabled
: in most, if not all, freeware or unregistered shareware newsreaders.

I am not accusing anybody here, but use of unregistered shareware past
it's trial period is PIRACY and unethical to boot.  The use of
unregistered shareware is not an excuse, it's a confession.

For the record I use a freeware newsreader.  I'd love to get the full
commercial version, but a guy's gotta have priorities!  :-)
