I know that sim***world is currently making a rain patch for mosport,
although its taking a while (must be good then!).  I would like to know if
there is anybody else making rain patches for GPL?

Why would any sane person want rain in GPL? Don't we have enough trouble
staying on the track already? :)

Gordon

Get ready for all those 14 minute Monza times to start pouring in....
Why would any sane person want rain in GPL?  Good question....
this is all assuming sanity is a good thing of course...

Assuming the rain patch is actually accurate, and that it's an accurate sim,
then the times and car behavior should be the same as what I've seen on
video from the real drivers of that era.

The rain patch (or implementation of rain into a sim from the start
for that matter) that I wanna see is one that isn't just on or off....

First 4 laps at Spa are nice and dry, then without warning, you come
of Malmedy and run into a downpour that has you in the wet until just
before LaSource, the storm slowly moves across, making only parts of
the track wet, and eventually it stops raining...  something like that

We have been running Rain races in the TPTCC patch for N99/2 for the
past 3 years.  When you first go out...it is a disaster.  But once you
find new braking points and keep your braking straight, it really almost
gets comfortable.
I would expect gpl to just be a step or two up the ladder of
difficulty.  The lads at TPTCC tried something that worked fairly well
with the season ending race, the Bullrun 1000.(161 laps at bullrun with
a teammate, no more that 51 laps before you save the race and email it
to your partner.)[who repeats the process]
Well in this last Bullrun, Jan and Sean came up with a utility that
would change the weather, {daylight, dusk, night, or rain} and the track
conditions.  You had to save the race, run the weather util and then
reload the race, but I'm betting that GPL's somewhat similar track
folders would make this feature do-able for gpl as well.

Well, if it's not we could always ask for a .cfg file where we can put in
whatever parameters for gravity, grip, braking, lateral acceleration and
acceleration we like....

they keep repeating again and again how the last time the british gp was
raced in april it snowed, did it? i don't know, but if that happens this
