GP2 port to dial up: HELP!

by Alex GP » Thu, 06 Jan 2000 04:00:00

Hi there, sorry my poor English, I'm from Brazil.
I'm trying to connect GP2 using dial up, but can't change the port.  The modem
(Motorola 56k Voice - internal) is in com3, but the game don't let me change it,
holds the com2 (I click, click, click and doesn't change!!).
Someone could help me?
Thanks in advance,

Alexandre

try the FAQ at gp2.com or grandprix2.com. This is a known issue with the
game but there is a work-around.

GP2 has a problem using any other com port other than com2, so....

Check out the GP2 cd, and find the file called comsetup.exe (in the
utils/comsetup directory).

Run the file and type /h for help on how to use the file. It can
basically fool your pc into thinking one com port is another com port
(eg: com3 into com2?)

Alternatively, set-up your modem so that it uses com2 rather than com3.

Good luck.
