I wathced "3 - The Dale Earnhardt Story" last night and was very
pleased. Barry Pepper did Dale Earnhardt Sr. justice. I wish it had
been a 2 hour feature instead of the 90 minutes it ran.

It's about time a good racing movie was made. Hopefully another good
one can be made with an even a higher budget.

I meant to pick this up at the vid store last week.
Glad to hear its a good flick.
Other than a few small circles in some rural areas, Canada is not known for
its interest in Nascar.
Barry Pepper is an excellent actor and its good to see a Canadian
contribution to a great American legend. :)

Awesome, I was hoping it would be in vid stores seeing as I don't have ESPN
(sniff).

Don't cry. Trust me, you didn't miss a thing. The movie pretty much sucked, and
Pepper's performance didn't capture Earnhardt.

Earnhardt.   I think everyone did a great job, considering there wasn't
much official backing, was  much official "Oh, No..." Barry Pepper
threw himself into this role...when it got too close, it looked like
Pepper in make-up. So what. He studied, worked hard, a racing trainer
became Jr., a lot of care went into this film. Barry tried to get  the
tone and body language and mannerisims Earnhardt fans could recognize.
I did.  Didn't like that he looked sickly and pale..especially  the
supposed chat with Jr. on the dock, he was a sweaty Betty.  I think Sr.
would have shown up well-groomed...didn't like that moment. I wasn't
there, I dunno.  They tried to fit a huge life  into 2 hrs, they did a
good thing within that parameter.   You don't think so, that's fine,
just say it's your opinion, not like only you are right, only you know,
and everyone else is wrong. People hate my opinion all over the place,
but it's what it is, it's only mine.  Say it's what you think, don't
demand others think the way you do, that makes you scary.  Some
brilliant moments...the end was real, it happened...then a fantasy bit.
I've  got a heart and soul...it was very moving.  to me. not ok with
you?  pfffhtt!!!

I'm a pretty scary dude.....be afraid, be very afraid. {;-)

For the record, I was only, (like you), offering my opinion, not demanding that
everyone share my view. I felt that it was an innacurate portrayal of
Earnhardt, and based on the prominence of Theresa's character, I'd guess she
was heavily involved in the scripting.

As always, YMMV

Actually, none of the Earnhardt's participated in any way, which was their
choice, as they were not pleased with the movie being made.
